I’m about five foot one, weigh 149 pounds (about 11 stone) and i’ve been riding for a while. I like horses with a fun and firey temperment and I am willing to put time into breaking a horse. I ride english and I am interested in working on the show jumping discipline. What breed and height is best for me?

I am not a fan of haflingers, though I don’t dislike them. I do prefer larger horses, from about 15.2 hands and up, but I am not picky.

I just recently got a horse. I know how to ride I have done it my whole like and I have 40 acres so it has more then enough room. But I would like to enter my horse into some competitions at the western fair agriplex in london ontario. How do you normally enter your horse in competitions… do you have to be scouted or what?

Ok, well my friend is in the process of looking for a horse. I am helping her, giving her second opinions, etc. I want to know what the smallest horse she should be looking for is. She is a trail rider like me. She weighs 250lbs and is 5’10". Whats the smallest horse, weight and height wise that she should be looking at?

Does anyone know of a website that lists the classes that a horse instructor/trainer can ride in at horse shows? I know that trainers can only ride in certain classes because they are at a higher level than other riders and it deems it "unfair" and "unfit" for a trainer to compete in a class against riders that are on the same level as their students.

I’m trying to find out a definite as to what classes a trainer is allowed to ride in without causing problems.

If I’m riding in the arena and theres not another horse he’ll stand at the gate and wont move. So wat is the fastest way to twach him to ride by himself? And I’ve tried everthing wips, talking, treats, kicking, he wont ride or he’ll rear up or i’ll get him a little bit away and he’ll take off and run me into the fence.
